Palacio de los Deportes

This is today one of the most prized venues in Mexico, hosting concerts, fairs and all types of socio-cultural activities. It is a national icon, where internationally-renowned groups have appeared to the enjoyment of thousands.

It was originally built for the 1968 Olympics; it is a circular structure with three main levels. It is covered with a spherical vaulted roof that is 47 meters high at the peak, and its external covering is copper sheeting. It has the capacity to hold 23,000 spectators, including both removable bleachers and 15,400 fixed seats; a parking area of 3,800 cars. It is currently the site of mass musical events, fairs and exhibitions.
