Cooperation with Harvard
Our inter-institutional connections and close ties to research centers, universities and specialized institutes is fundamental for us. In order to encourage sustainability and evaluate the quality of this country's infrastructure, we work with the Harvard Design School on various projects.
So far in 2014 there have been two case studies of ICA projects: The Nuevo Necaxa-Tihuatlán Highway and Mayab Highway. By analyzing these cases we seek to establish sustainability benchmarks in our projects using the methodology developed by the ENVISION™ system, developed by Harvard's Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure.
In turn, we conducted a study of the evolution and history of Mexico City in order to propose planning options for transportation infrastructure in the city. This joint research project is explained and detailed more extensively in an issue of Between Geometry and Geography to be published shortly.
