Necaxa Tunnel

This 987-meter long tunnel is the largest of the seven tunnels included in the Mexico-Tuxpan highway. Its geographic location has proven to be one of our greatest challenges, because it is situated between three geological faults.

The Mexico-Tuxpan highway is 293 km long, and there are segments with different numbers of lane--110 km of four-lane highway, 17 km of three-lane highway, and 166 km of two-lane highway. All seven tunnels have four lanes, with a total length of 6,000 meters.
