Project Finance

A growing number of financial institutions around the world today are adopting the Equator Principles espoused by the International Finance Corporation. This is a set of guidelines that are adopted on a voluntary basis, for determining, assessing and managing environmental and social risks in projects financed by what are called Equator Principles Financial Institutions (EPFIs). These institutions provide financing only for projects where borrowers can demonstrate that they manage all the adequate resources with social, environmental and economic responsibility in developing infrastructure.
