La Yesca Hydroelectric Project

This work is winner of the "Milestone Project" award by the Chinese Committee on Large Dams (CHINCOLD), recognized for its innovative best practices and construction techniques. The dam is currently the second highest of its type in the world and the third largest of its type in terms of power generation, after El Cajon and Aguamilpa, which we also built.

It has capacity to generate 750 Mw, the dam a concrete-face embankment dam 208.5 meters high, the tallest in Mexico. The intake structure is located on the right bank of the river and consists of a reinforced concrete structure and metal grilles. It has two slide service gates operated by servomotors.
