Chicoasen Hydroelectric Power Plant

This hydroelectric power plant has a 255-meter high, 515-meter long rock fill dam curtain. The intake works consist of a canal for 8 sloped intake points. 6.20-meter-diamter pressure conduits are sheathed in concrete and steel clad. The machine room is housed in a power cavern 20 meters wide, 199 long and 43 high. It can house up to 8 turbo-generator units with 300 MW of power each.

We also handled the design and construction of the access road to the plant, with a solution that saved 8km of travel distance and 400m of slope.
